- Lisa smacked me on the ass as she entered the kitchen. "Those eggs there are almost overdone, loverboy." We started to discuss the logistics of the move as we ate. Lisa wanted to keep her room. I argued she should take the master. "I'm comfortable there, and that'd be a lot of unnecessary rearranging." She made a good point. Lisa's room had its own bathroom. The other two rooms shared a bathroom. The master obviously, had its own. Heather and Lisa thought I should take the master, since it was my involvement that made it all possible. They were texting with Mandy the whole time, getting her input as well. Mandy and Heather would take the rooms that shared a bathroom. I showered and dressed under the gaze of two sets of hungry eyes and we made our way out the door eventually.
- Mandy joined us at the Robertson's at three. Mr. Robertson took me on a quick tour of the house. The girls, of course, knew the layout already. The lounge and master alone were bigger than my entire apartment. The master bathroom was huge! A garden tub that would easily seat four, a shower big enough to put card table and chairs in. The basement finished with a small wet bar in the corner, and room for a pool table if we wanted. He could tell I was impressed. He asked what I was paying in rent right now. I quoted him the number and he laughed. He agreed to take that amount each month, and then put the girls' room and board monies and put them in a separate account to use for maintenance costs. "Barbara didn't want me to charge you kids anything, but I think collecting a little something will help give the four of you a little skin in the game and have a reason to care." I agreed. It was more than reasonable. We shook hands and he gave us a date to move Mandy, Heather and myself in.
- I walked into the den with a stoic look on my face. Mandy's jaw dropped, and I swear Lisa was about to cry. "Well?" She demanded. I paused for another moment, and hung my head, then looked up and gave them a big smile. They jumped up and surrounded me in a huge group hug, jumping up and down around me. I calmed everyone down and went over the details. Almost three weeks until the movers came to pack up most of the house, then another few days for the cleaning service to do a deep clean, and then it was ours. They all wanted to celebrate. They suggested a fancy dinner or going out to a club to dance. They were debating back and forth when Lisa's dad emerged.
